I started practicing yoga in 1999, when on a whim I dropped into a lunch hour yoga class at a local fitness club. I knew I’d gain strength and flexibility by practicing yoga - - but the unexpected nugget: Practicing yoga transformed my worry and stress, into inner calmness. (I previously believed this could only be accomplished if I went faster, worked harder and created longer to-do lists.) In June 2016, I received my 200-hour, alignment-based Hatha yoga teacher certification, registered with Yoga Alliance and started teaching immediately. I am blessed to have studied with exceptionally experienced Iyengar, alignment-based, and Hatha instructors and a gifted meditation teacher. In my classes, we use a variety of props to support and ease our extratight hamstrings, our backs - - even a less-than-perfect knee, shoulder or hip. Or if you’re overly-flexible, I can accommodate that safely too. Philosophy: To share the gift of yoga with every “body”, regardless of current strength or flexibility level, and to make that yoga experience safe and accessible for every student.
